Understandably, a level of fear comes with seeing a once strong, supportive parent slowly starting to struggle on a daily basis. Indeed, we all want our parents to live independently for as long as possible, but in many cases that is simply no longer possible. If you feel your parent may require assistance with their daily living activities, it could be time for in-home care services. Call us Today for any questions you may have?

Is your parent ready for senior care services?

Many adult children continue to see their parents as able-bodied and able to manage their day-to-day lives. Unfortunately, it is easy to overlook key signs of decline. Here are three questions to ask yourself during your next visit.

  1. Is your parent losing weight? Is there spoiled food in the fridge? Weight loss can be a sign that your parent is no longer eating properly, which could be caused by several factors such as depression, vision loss or cognitive decline.
  2. Is the house clean? If upkeep of the house continues to deteriorate, it could be a sign that your parent is having increased difficulties living independently.
  3. Is your parent's physical appearance clean? Does your parent continually wear dirty clothes? Are they forgetting to comb their hair, brush their teeth or shave on a daily basis?
If "Yes" is an answer to one or all of these questions, it may be time to consider senior care options for your loved one.
